Follow these simple steps to create your own Telegram bot and register it to SkyDecay. The main steps are: create a bot on telegram, activate the chat, copy it's token and then register it on the SkyDecay website
If you haven't already, download the Telegram app on your smartphone or visit the Telegram Web and create an account.
Once your account is ready, use the search function in Telegram to look for "BotFather". Be sure to choose the correct one, identified by a blue verification checkmark, as there are many fake accounts.
After opening BotFather's chat, follow the instructions to create a new bot. BotFather will guide you through the steps, such as naming your bot and assigning a username. We suggest naming your bot after the location you will associate with it, especially if you plan on creating multiple bots for different purposes or locations. see the image below for more details.
After successfully creating the bot, BotFather will provide a link to access it. Simply click on the link to open the chat with your new bot.
Before you do anything else, star the bot chat and wait at least 2 minutes then send a message (even something simple like "Hello!"). This is a crucial step as it will allow the system (e.g., SkyDecay) to recognize the bot during the registration phase. if the registration goes wrong, send another message and retry
BotFather will also provide you with a token for your bot, which is a long string of characters. Make sure to copy this token carefully by simply clicking on it
That's it! You now have a functional Telegram bot.
Go back to the BotFather chat, find the message containing your bot creation token, copy it, and paste it into the SkyDecay bot management page. Then, click on delete. You should receive a message in your bot chat confirming the successful deletion from the SkyDecay users database.
In the BotFather chat, type /deletebot
and follow the steps. Enter the name of the bot to delete as "@the_name_of_the_bot_with_bot" at the end. See the image below for more details.
